This is one of James Abbott McNeill Whistler paintings. Called Nocturne in black and gold, the rag shop.
its very similar to the nocturne in black and gold, the falling rocket, at first glance you really have no clear idea as to what you are looking at. it makes you have to look really closely at the picture to see the image. the way he paints is very interesting to me because he shows just enough so the viewer has to think about if what they think they are looking at is really what they are looking at. in this painting the "Rag Shop" i can see that its some sort of store with stuff in the window. the abstract part of his pieces is what i think make them so interesting.

This is Abanindranath Tagore’s Journey's
End
Tagore is great with watercolor which is what he painted this piece with. This piece has a great name because when I
first saw this I thought this camel must be on its last journey and then I saw
that the name was a Journey’s End. The way the camel is slumped over really conveys
a journey’s end, its eyes are closed and the way its neck is positioned gives
the painting feeling. I also like this
piece because of the colors used, the dark orange makes it seem like it was a
very long hot day. if I didn’t know the name of this piece the way the camel is
worn down and the position it’s in says it all

This is Hieronymus Bosch’s Christ Carrying the Cross.
What made me stop at this
painting were all of the strange faces. i found out that Christ is surrounded by men with faces
that look like beast and monsters because these are the men that have lost all
human feeling and knowledge. The other
faces are symbols of greed, corruption of the human spirit, and the wealthy.
Bosch chose to show the faces this way
to reveal how the real faces behind all the greed, and corruptions. The
composition of this piece is interesting, Its full of stacked heads of
different expressions with no space to see a background. I think this painting is like a good vs
evil, because all the these evil sprites have surrounded Christ’s gentle easy
calm face expression. Im not sure if
this is mannerstic because the figures are not really oddly shaped but they do
take up space and there is no hint as to where this could have taken place. I
love all the detail in the piece i can easily tell that the painting is oil.
Even though the figures all over the place each one has their own space that
clearly shows the expression.

This is Madonna mit Kind by Giotto Di Bondone
I really do not like how Jesus does not look like he is a baby. The way his features are make him look much older than a infant really would look, his size is way to big. What i do like about this is the connection with the flower or plant they are both holding. Even though she is not looking directly at him the is still a connection between the two. I also like how the the halo's are blended in with the piece and not just thrown around their head in gold. i think this would be a lot better if Jesus did not look so manly
