I really do not like how Jesus does not look like he is a baby. The way his features are make him look much older than a infant really would look, his size is way to big. What i do like about this is the connection with the flower or plant they are both holding. Even though she is not looking directly at him the is still a connection between the two. I also like how the the halo's are blended in with the piece and not just thrown around their head in gold. i think this would be a lot better if Jesus did not look so manly

I enjoy the colors in this picture. There is some interaction shown between mother and child but she looks like she's posing to take a photo.
This is a strange piece. Jesus is a muscular baby. The connection between the Madonna and Jesus is obvious through the touching of their hands and the gentle way she holds him.

ReplyDeleteAlthought I think the colors of this piece and the detail in the background are stunning the fact that jesus looks likes a puppet and mary looks like an elderly woman really throws me off... I would call this a hit and miss.
