This is Abanindranath Tagore’s  Journey's End

Tagore is great with watercolor which is what he painted this piece with.  This piece has a great name because when I first saw this I thought this camel must be on its last journey and then I saw that the name was a Journey’s End. The way the camel is slumped over really conveys a journey’s end, its eyes are closed and the way its neck is positioned gives the painting feeling.  I also like this piece because of the colors used, the dark orange makes it seem like it was a very long hot day. if I didn’t know the name of this piece the way the camel is worn down and the position it’s in says it all

  1. I love the bright orange background it gives it the hot dessert feel. The expression on the camels face and the position it is in gives it the feel like its collapsing probably from lack of water.

  2. This piece really spoke to me. The agony in the camel's face and posture pulled at my heartstrings. What an emotionally powerful piece!
